This allows recording of high resolution video tours of proposed wind industry development areas.
Our interest in this issue was certainly instigated by our personal stake of our lives' commitment to a chosen "lifestyle". Our perspective quickly changed to one of much greater concern over the misguided expenditure of public funds toward "pseudo" green energy.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13424919953307497780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4245322394206409324.post-52047399174552447822011-04-20T10:15:14.137-04:002011-04-20T10:15:14.137-04:00Eldon,

Yours is a fine example of the right way to combat these ill-advised intrusions into our environment all in the name of saving it.

Observations: 1)It's "interesting" that Invenergy wants to wait an entire year before they'll divulge any information re: output. I would think that they are capable of doing much better that that, and would, if they weren't hiding some inconvenient factoids about the installation you visited. 2)I', curious as to why county planners reversed the setback from 400% to 110% of height. Would the previous limit require the elimination to too many turbines for Invenergy's liking? 3)How transparent is the county regarding their contacts with Invenergy? What kind of promises are being made? My parents' experience with CalWind and others in Tehachapi during he 1980s taught them a few things about how corporate America works. They learned that there are two fronts to this war: the public front, and the "smoke-filled room" front. The latter is always more difficult to fight, yet it was in their case, where the war was won.
Bill Van VelzerBill Van Velzernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4245322394206409324.post-89107730793949992892011-03-15T22:12:43.037-04:002011-03-15T22:12:43.037-04:00ELDON YOU have done a fantastic contribution here ...ELDON YOU have done a fantastic contribution here to not only Neighbors but the whole of Roanoke Valley.
Perhaps Your Efforts will continue the beautiful vistas of Our Mountains and help all local governments not to fall into the trap of the wind industries.
It is a disgrace that local governments would even consider destroying local property values to consider such a travesty.Noah Ticklenoreply@blogger.com
